Registration with SAPIK
Every Kinderkineticist and Assistant Kinderkineticist in South Africa must register with SAPIK annually. Here's everything you need, in one place.



The annual registration window
REGISTRATION OPENS
1 Jan – 28 Feb
The standard annual window. Register early and relax.
GRACE PERIOD
1 – 31 March
A final month to complete your registration without penalty.
VALID FOR
12 months
Registration runs 31 March to 31 March the following year.
⏱ A penalty of R400 applies to registrations after 31 March.

Re-registration
Returning after removal from the register

✓ Fine equal to the registration fee, plus the current year’s fee

Deferment of registration
Deferment freezes your SAPIK registration for a minimum of one year (12 months) up to a maximum of two years (24 months). While deferred you may not practise as a Kinderkineticist, run a Kinderkinetics practice, use the Kinderkinetics® brand name, or apply Kinderkinetics knowledge in another profession's service delivery. Request deferment through the registrar before your registration lapses.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Qualified through experience or an older qualification? SAPIK considers RPL applications on individual merit. Submit a portfolio of evidence of your training, experience and practical hours to the registrar and training committee, who will assess which registration category applies. Contact SAPIK before applying to confirm the required documentation.

Removed from the register?
Names can be removed for non-payment, ethics sanctions or on request. Re-apply with form RR1, a fine equal to one year's registration fee applies, plus the current year's fee. The registrar and training committee review each application on merit.
Once you're registered
You receive a private username and password for the members' area, and your details appear on the public SAPIK register. Sharing your login with non-registered persons is an ethics offence.

CPD points
Continuing professional development points are required each year to maintain registration — proof is submitted with your renewal.
Certified copies
All supporting documents must be certified within the last three months. Uncertified documents delay your registration.
