The professional home of Kinderkineticists
SAPIK — the South African Professional Institute for Kinderkinetics was established in 2004 to register, regulate and champion the Kinderkinetics profession, so that every family working with a Kinderkineticist can trust the hands their child is in.
Our Resposibilitites

Registers practitioners
Maintains the national register of Kinderkineticists and Assistant Kinderkineticists, renewed every year.

Regulates conduct
Sets and enforces the Code of Professional Ethics that every registered practitioner is accountable to.

Advances the profession
Drives research, training standards, CPD and the growth of Kinderkinetics across South Africa.

Protects the trademark
Kinderkinetics® is a registered trademark — quality control that protects families and practitioners alike.
Our story
Our profession has grown the way a child does. From first movements to balance, strength and confidence. Each milestone, a new stage of development.





1994
Kinderkinetics is born at the North-West University, driven by research into gross motor deficiencies in young children.
2001
The Honours programme officially takes the name Kinderkinetics; more universities begin training.
2004
SAPIK is formally established in Rustenburg, with Prof. Anita Pienaar as its first Director.
2006
Kinderkinetika / Kinderkinetics is granted as a registered trademark, retroactive to 2002.
Today
180+ Kinderkineticists and 69+ practices registered nationwide, and growing every year.

SAPIK is dedicated to advancing the Kinderkinetics profession and improving the service every consumer receives. Registration isn't paperwork, it's a promise that a practitioner is qualified, ethical and accountable.
